Lines

These lines were created while listening to a song called Cranes in the Sky by Solange Knowles. I made a lot of curved lines to represent the swift movement of the song while my bold lines represented the two boldest parts I experienced when listening. I used different measures by changing the lengths and widths of certain lines. I incorporated different types of lines such as, curvy and straight with a slight curve. The location of my lines shows most of the weight towards the bottom of the page, while the top is lighter.
These lines were created while listening to Settle Down by Kimbra. The tambourine strikes in the song caused be to focus on straighter lines. I focused on using longer lines with the shorter bold lines to represent a few sounds I heard when observing measurement. The types of lines I used were longer lines that stretched from one side of the page to another, and were predominately straight. The locations of my lines are focal in the bottom left and top right sides of the page.

Composition Project

This image has good composition. The plant is symmetric and will look the same if it is sliced down the middle. There are a variety of shapes and patterns as well. The tan and green show a repitition of color while the plant is also focal and dominates the image. The plant shows proportion of how large it is compared to the other plants and the lines within create movement.
This is not good composition. There are a variety of shapes and repetition throughout the lines, however the image lacks in dominance because the blue car in the background changes the focus of the image. There is movement if you follow the lines throughout the image.
This is good composition. The image is not centered, so it leaves room to wonder what is outside of those boundaries. There are a variety of shape and patterns and some repetition of shapes. The proportions are shown by comparing the plant sizes to one another. The many shapes and lines create movement throughout the image.
This is good composition. There is asymmetrical balance and a variety of shapes that repeat themselves. The color of the car is focal and dominates the images in the background. The lines that show the slant of the car shows movement in the image.
